The Electrical Engineer will:
• Design machine oriented electrical power distribution, communication, and control systems. Perform calculations, prepare technical drawings and develop equipment specifications to ensure that the electrical systems conform to Butech Bliss standards, applicable industry standards, and to customer requirements and performance guarantees.
• Generate project required documentation such as equipment lists, motor lists, Sequence of Operations, and Safety Specifications.
• Collaborate with other departments, customers and suppliers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Work on multiple projects at the same time and report progress to Project Managers and Electrical Engineering Manager.
• Participate in Project Meetings.
• Communicate with customers on technical issues. Identify out-of-scope requests and notify Project Manager.
• Research and define electrical and automation system hardware.
• Develop RFQ’s to solicit quotes for equipment including motors, drives package and MCC’s. Work with vendors to ensure correct technology for the best price.
• Perform in-house testing, field startup and commissioning of systems to achieve project success and performance guarantees.
• Provide both on-site and remote support to customer as needed.
• Have the ability to use engineering and design software to perform engineering tasks. Stay abreast of the latest developments in available software and electrical engineering analytic tools.
• Work performed must be in compliance with all current electrical codes and standards.
• In performing tasks in the shop or in the field, must comply with all Butech Bliss safety rules, and customer safety rules where applicable
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
Strong candidates for this position will meet the following expectations:
• Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Uses logic, engineering and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Must be able to operate system diagnostic equipment.
• Must be up-to-date with current technologies.
• Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with limited supervision or assistance.
• Ability to handle startup of new equipment along with required travel. (up to 10-20%)
• Ability to work overtime.
• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
• Design control systems, including panel layout, wiring schematic
• for Butech Bliss original equipment.
• Create electrical drawings for manufacturing and installation of the equipment’s control system. (single lines, cable schedules, network architect, MCC, & Control Cabinets (PLC, remote IO, VFD, etc.)
• Develop, program, and maintain PLC and HMI systems for various control applications primarily using Rockwell products.
• Experience in design, programming and troubleshooting of AC drives, DC drives, & motion control systems.
• Use of AutoCAD Electrical.
• Knowledge of Visual Basic for Windows is a plus.
• Knowledge of steel coil processing (Cut-to-Length, Pickle, Slitting etc.) lines or rolling mill applications.
