Posted on: 06/17/2026

Salem, Ohio – June 10, 2026 – Butech Bliss has received an order from Granite City Processing for a new stretch leveling cut-to-length line to be installed at the company’s Granite City, Illinois, facility. Designed for processing hot rolled and pickled and oiled steel, the new line will handle material up to 0.625 inches thick and 74 inches wide at speeds up to 225 feet per minute.

The line will incorporate several advanced Butech Bliss technologies, including the company’s direct-drive shear, which reduces horsepower requirements while delivering long knife life and reliable performance. Granite City Processing also selected Butech Bliss’ Synergy™ Leveling System in combination with the stretch leveler to produce exceptionally flat sheets that maintain shape during demanding downstream operations such as laser cutting.

Additional line features include a pivoting exit conveyor designed to speed pack discharge and improve shipping efficiency. Together, these capabilities will help Granite City Processing expand its processing range, improve throughput, and deliver high-quality flat-rolled products with the consistency today’s customers demand.

Granite City Processing, LLC is a strategic joint venture between Heidtman Steel Products Incorporated and Steel and Pipe Supply Co., Inc. The toll processing operation is located at the former Heidtman Steel facility in Granite City, Illinois, and brings together the strengths of both companies to provide expanded processing capabilities and service offerings to customers across the region. “This new line will significantly enhance our plant’s production capabilities,” said Dan Cates, Operations Manager at Steel and Pipe Supply. “It will also enable us to provide faster turnaround times for our customers while continuing to deliver the high-quality product they expect from Granite City Processing.”

This latest order reflects continued investment in advanced coil processing capabilities and reinforces Butech Bliss’ position as a trusted supplier of high-performance cut-to-length and leveling solutions for service centers and toll processors.
