Salem, OH – September 1, 2021 – Butech Bliss is happy to announce the acquisition of both LM Equipment & Design, and Lehmann Mills. Two companies that share the same facilities in Salem Ohio.
Butech Bliss is a manufacturing and engineering company that builds custom hot rolling mills, rolling mills, and high-performance leveling and coil processing equipment for the metals industry. Founded in 1985 by John Buta after acquiring the assets and intellectual property of Bliss-Salem, the company has grown into a global supplier of stretch levers, hydraulic roller levers, and hydraulic plate levers that deliver precise flatness, thickness control, and surface quality across steel and specialty metal applications. John, a lifelong Salem resident who previously worked for both Bliss and LM Equipment, believes bringing these facilities together strengthens engineering, manufacturing, and customer support while driving innovation and long-term value for customers.
The acquisition of LM Equipment enhances Butech Bliss’s ability to deliver complete coil-processing cut-to-length lines and auxiliary systems, including roller leveling cut-to-length lines, stretch leveling cut-to-length lines, and temper mill cut-to-length lines that serve service centers and steel producers worldwide. Owners of legacy PAXSON equipment now gain access to expanded spare parts, engineering upgrades, and field service support, while integrated scrap choppers and side trimmers help ensure efficient material handling and trim processing throughout the production line.
LM Equipment’s engineering expertise also supports modern push-pull pickling lines, slitting lines, and multi-blanking lines, allowing Butech Bliss to provide fully integrated coil preparation, cleaning, and blanking systems that connect seamlessly with upstream mills and downstream finishing operations. This combination enables customers to improve throughput, reduce waste, and maintain tighter tolerances across a wide range of coil widths, thicknesses, and steel grades.
Lehmann Mills complements this expanded offering with its long-standing leadership in dispersion milling, having built more than 5,000 mills over its 100-plus-year history. Lehmann also provides reconditioning, service, and spare parts for both its own equipment and competitive brands, further strengthening Butech Bliss’s ability to support customers across industries ranging from cosmetics and chocolate to specialty metals and steel.
Collectively, this expanded organization allows Butech Bliss to serve customers with an unmatched combination of rolling, leveling, coil processing, and materials handling technologies, supported by local manufacturing and global engineering expertise.
Butech Bliss would also like to thank The Sustainable Opportunity Development Center (SOD Center) for its support throughout the Lehmann Mills acquisition. The SOD Center provided environmental resources through the Ohio EPA and helped identify incentive options through regional and state development partners. The SOD Training Center will assist with specialized workforce training, ensuring the Salem facilities continue to operate at the highest levels of quality, safety, and technical excellence.
The SOD Training Center will also be assisting Butech Bliss with specialized training opportunities for the employees of Lehman Mills. “The SOD Center is pleased to have assisted Butech Bliss in this acquisition. Providing assistance and tools that keep companies local is so important to the economic prosperity of the Salem Community,” stated Ms. Needs. The SOD Center extends its sincere thanks to Butech Bliss and their leadership for their continued investment in the Salem Community.
